This is one from my drawing boards that hasn't made it up on the site before now. It was done after The Watchmen, a group founded by several vitriolic homophobes, held a conference in Lynnwood, Washington. The group is listed by the Southern Poverty Law Center as an international hate group, centered around "a virulent Latvian megachurch preacher who has become a central figure in the hard-line Slavic anti-gay movement in the West." This preacher, Alexey Ledyaev, has spawned a growing, ferocious and voilent anti-gay movement in the Sacramento Valley.
In July 2007, a young gay man, Satender Singh was gay-bashed to death by Slavic suspects, one of whom fled to Russia and has yet to be brought to justice. Scott Lively and Washington Preacher Ken Hutcherson, two U.S. members of the Watchmen group, have persistantly refused to condemn the killing of Singh, preferring instead to utter vague, toss-away statements about not condoning violence. Yet the group persists in inflaming deadly passions against gay people. Lively, for example, has traveled to parts of eastern Europe and Africa with his message that genocide experienced by the peoples of those lands was committed by homosexuals.
