Note To Self: There are certain constants in your life that you need to pay attention to.\u00a0 Never mind why they’re constants.\u00a0 You know from past experience what reliably happens when you do certain things.\u00a0 So it makes sense not to do those things.\u00a0 Right?<\/p>\n
For instance: working for insurance companies.\u00a0 Every insurance company job you’ve ever worked became a catastrophe within a couple weeks.\u00a0 Four different companies…four different and diverse sets of managers…and yet the same result.\u00a0 And within weeks.\u00a0 Wait…one of them didn’t even make it a week.\u00a0<\/p>\n
No…you don’t really understand why that is…you have a really great resume from your other employers…lots of very nice letters of recomendation there.\u00a0 But hey…physicists are still arguing about why gravity works too and they still know exactly How<\/em> it works.\u00a0 You know how this works: you and insurance companies just don’t mix.\u00a0 When seeking employment, stay the hell away from them.<\/p>\n Here’s another constant in your life you need to pay attention to:\u00a0 You have a string of heart wreaks that have “short and cute” written all over them.\u00a0 The epitome of that was Dale.\u00a0 You remember Dale don’t you?\u00a0 Still hurts too doesn’t it?\u00a0 Yeah…I thought so.\u00a0 Gosh he was cute wasn’t he?\u00a0 And a self-centered, devious little weasel too.\u00a0 And so was Raymond.\u00a0 And Twan.\u00a0 And Trey.\u00a0 See a pattern here?\u00a0 Other kinds of guys have cut wounds into your heart, sure.\u00a0 But they didn’t mean to.\u00a0 They really cared how you felt.\u00a0 Only the short and cute ones made you feel stupid afterward.<\/p>\n So…listen…this new guy who moved in down the block from you…\u00a0 He’s got a really nice smile for you and seems like a really nice guy and everything…\u00a0 But before you get yourself all wrapped around another Dale, I have a suggestion: hit yourself over the head with something hard.<\/p>\n \n[Edited a tad…]<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Note To Self: There are certain constants in your life that you need to pay attention to.\u00a0 Never mind why they’re constants.\u00a0 You know from past experience what reliably happens when you do certain things.\u00a0 So it makes sense not to do those things.\u00a0 Right?
