Yeah…part of the gag at the end was I was trying for a very exaggerated reaction from Stoneface, along with the big dialogue lettering. Not sure how well it worked, but I was chuckling to myself all the time I was drawing it. I should add though that the impetus for this one came from something that happened recently to a young online friend of mine and it was anything but funny to him. I was also thinking about a couple guys in my own past. Sometimes in retrospect you wonder what the hell you were thinking.
Nicole Hollander used to do this running "Love Cop" gag in her Sylvia comic strip that was just hilarious. Love Cop (part cop part superhero) flys to the scene in the nick of time to keep doomed couples apart. The strips would run something like this:
Redneck male to young woman: I like to collect guns and kill deer and I think you have the most beautiful eyes…
Young woman to redneck male: I fight for animal rights and I could just melt away in your smile.
Love Cop: All right you two…break it up…break it up…
I was thinking about Love Cop while I was scripting this one out. I should add some text to the last panel nodding to Nicole Hollander.

Heh, cute. Sergeant Stoneface has really big hands. Scary. He’d make a decent early-game silent hill character with those. O.o
